What is particular to Webflow
New items are created through the staged endpoint, which makes drafts. Webflow also has a live endpoint that publishes immediately; it differs by one path segment and is deliberately not used.
What the platform does not allow
The CMS can be reached; the pages cannot. Webflow's page content endpoint only changes static content in secondary locales, so on an ordinary single-language site there is no way to edit a page at all. A Webflow site built entirely from hand-made pages has nothing here to manage.
Which assistants this works with
Any assistant that speaks the Model Context Protocol. That includes ChatGPT and Claude today. You connect your own account — there is no separate subscription to an AI provider through us, and your conversations stay with whichever assistant you already pay for.
Everything above describes what Webflow’s interface offers. None of it is marked verified yet, which in this product means exercised against a live installation with the date recorded.
Common questions
Do I need an OpenAI API key?
No. You connect the ChatGPT account you already have. Webflow AI Agent is the bridge between that account and your Webflow site; it is not an OpenAI reseller and does not need a key from you.
Can ChatGPT publish to my Webflow site without asking?
No. Work is created unpublished wherever the platform allows it, and publishing is a deliberate, separate step. Never changing a live site without authorisation is a rule the product is built around rather than a setting.
What happens if I revoke access?
The connection stops working immediately. The credential lives on your Webflow installation and is yours to withdraw at any time, without touching anything else on the site.
